Mathieu Langlois completed a Bachelor of Music (Honours Performance) degree on the modern flute at the University of Western Ontario in 2002, graduating as recipient of the University Gold Medal for Orchestral Instrument Performance. With the support of a Canadian Graduate Scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Mathieu then completed a Master of Arts (Musicology) degree at the same institution. In 2004, he received a Bombardier Fellowship from the Canadian Bureau for International Education in order to study historical flutes at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, The Netherlands, with Wilbert Hazelzet and Kate Clark. Recent appearances for Mathieu on baroque and renaissance flutes have included engagements with the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Music Society, the Rotterdam Baroque Ensemble, the Bach Orchestra of The Netherlands with the Holland Boys Choir, and the Attaignant Consort.
